I am head over heels in love with this plant. Not only does it look great and is easy to take care of, it smells amazing. Even now in winter it still looks lovely. There are so many different varieties of lavender it can be confusing to know which you will like best. I have found that the Fred Boutin variety holds up to our winters in the northwest without rotting. I have also learned to add some rocks to the bottom of the hole prior to planting to help drain all of that lovely rain we get.
